Dietitians in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps play a key role in protecting the public health of underserved and vulnerable populations. As a Public Health Service dietitian, you will have the opportunity to serve disadvantaged communities in your daily job and as you respond to health emergencies and natural disasters. Public Health Service dietitians’ responsibilities are diverse and may include research, clinical nutrition, food service administration, public health nutrition, health policy, regulatory oversight, and supervisory roles.

As Public Health Service officers, we are dedicated to service and applying evidence-based nutrition and public health principles in order to respond to emergency situations or public health threats to the country.
