Commissioned Corps officers work for Federal agencies, such as the Indian Health Service and Bureau of Prisons, on the forefront of public health treating individuals that need it most. Nurse Officer

Serve your country in uniform. As one of the seven uniformed services of the United States, the Commissioned Corps fills the vital role of protecting our Nation’s public health. While the Commissioned Corps is not an armed service, officers may have the opportunity to assist in public health responses to man-made and natural disasters.
